Hungarian Goulash Soup

On my many visits to Hungary, one soup always stood out as my favorite—classic goulash. This hearty, soul-warming dish, brimming with tender beef, sweet onions, garlic, and a generous dash of rich Hungarian paprika, was often rounded out with rustic root vegetables. Every bowl was a comforting reminder of the country’s deep culinary traditions and bold, satisfying flavors.

The Ingredients
  • 2 lbs beef top round cubes
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 3 large red potatoes cubed
  • 4 large carrots
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp dry parsely
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • salt to taste
